The City of Wanneroo is now home to Australia’s largest swing as part of the pocket park now completed along with Stage One of Estate Development Company’s (EDC) Jindee development.
The initial extensive landscaping of stage one and the main road into Jindee has now been completed and features three times more street trees than most typical developments. The first public parkland in the development is now also open and features a giant 7m tall ‘porch style’ swing.
EDC Chair, Fiona Roche said the swing symbolises the unique lifestyle and fun community focus of the Jindee development as opposed to more traditional suburban developments.
“Jindee is all about uniqueness and exceptionality, and at 11 metres wide and 7 metres high the massive bench-swing structure is more akin to a piece of art than playground equipment,” Fiona said.
After strong interest following the release of Stage 1A, another 10 premium home-sites are now available (two have already pre-sold) that overlook the newly-designed parkland where the distinctive bench-swing structure has been built.
Full landscaping works are now complete for Stage 1B and include:
- Rear garaging in laneways to allow for three times more street trees than most typical developments;
- Verges dressed with various coloured ground covers and planted with trees; and
- Usually ignored laneways highlighted with attractive landscaping treatments, and convenient pedestrian walkways reinvented with unique landscaping treatments and design
- The pocket park which features Morton Bay Fig Trees, stepping stones, a grassed area and the swing.
